Stas Ginzburg is a Brooklyn-based photographer, American via Russia. His work centers on long-term documentary projects exploring queer and trans communities, activism, American subcultures, and life in public space.

Ginzburg's work has been exhibited nationally and internationally, including at the Queens Museum, the National Portrait Gallery, and Somerset House in London. His portraits have appeared in The Guardian, The Sunday Times Magazine, American Photography 40, and were featured in Revolution Is Love: A Year of Black Trans Liberation, a book published by Aperture (2022).

His current project, Sanctuary, a series of intimate portraits of queer and trans individuals photographed in their living spaces, was shortlisted for the Arnold Newman Prize (2024) and the Sony World Photography Awards (2025). Most recently, EE72 commissioned ten new portraits for the series.

Ginzburg holds a BFA in Photography from Parsons School of Design.
