LIBERATION PORTRAITS ARCHIVE
2020-2026
Liberation Portraits documents queer, trans, and gender-nonconforming people at marches, rallies, and Pride gatherings across the United States. With over 120 portraits, the series presents LGBTQIA+ individuals in direct, intentional compositions that foreground visibility, defiance, and authenticity.

Together, the images form a living archive, a record of community during a decade of profound political and cultural shifts. As queer and trans lives face renewed threats of legislative erasure and structural violence, these photographs serve as both witness and counternarrative, preserving a lineage of activism and radical presence on the street.

Each time the gallery loads, an algorithm reshuffles the portraits, creating new and unexpected relationships. This shifting arrangement resists fixed narratives, reflecting the fluid and collective nature of queer and trans liberation.
